Network and Funding
This tool is funded by the SearchSwitchSave.com Group as a public interest project to help people stay safer online. Built by Dr Alex J Martin-Smith.
Why we built this
- All processing happens locally in your browser. No passwords are sent to a server.
- Randomness comes from the Web Crypto API, not from predictable pseudo-random functions.
- The tool helps people generate unique passwords and understand password strength through clear feedback.
- We link to public safety resources from recognised organisations such as the UK NCSC and ICO.
- The site is designed for mobile devices and built with accessibility in mind.
- Written in UK English for UK users.
